400 square feet of home

Okay, I finally have pictures of our London home. Just please keep in my mind, we did not decorate. And it is very small.
Our stoop. We're on the right with the checkered porch. And that's my car on the left.
Our street.
Our bedroom, which is truly just the bed. But we keep the terrace doors open most of the time we're home to make it feel bigger!
The terrace-- the whole reason we chose this place, and we still don't have the table and plants that we so grandly planned for it. Maybe now that the weather is getting nice...
Bathroom. Pretty basic
Living room, dining room, entry hall, and kitchen.
Weirdo couch. (It's really not a couch at all. It's a bench with a cushion.)
I know this is a weird picture, but I wasn't sure how else to portray just how tiny the washer/dryer is. I wear a size 6 shoe. It doesn't fit in. Neither do jeans really... so basically I just want some sympathy for all the loads of laundry I do. Daily.

So there you have it. Our quite humble abode! I'll update with the events of this past weekend and pictures from it the next time I have a couple of hours at Whole Foods. This Wednesday we're leaving for Italy!! We're going to Rome and Florence. We'll have 5 days there, so it'll feel more like an actual vacation. Can't wait! Of course the earthquake that measured 6.3 and occured 70 miles north of Rome yesterday did kind of made me a little nervous... Adam and I are debating whether we have the best timing or worst timing when it comes to planned trips. First the shootings in Northern Ireland, now this... at least we are just barely missing these things!

  1. Kate... I love your blog! You're hilarious. And trust me... I give you all my sympathy for that sad excuse of a washer/dryer. I do love that terrace though! Glad you're enjoying things over there.

  2. Your place makes up with charm
    What it lacks in space...
    Being packed in so tightly
    Makes for frequent embrace.
Hahaha...That's bad, but the oven timer is going off, so I'll have to leave it at that. Carpe Diem!

  3. I love your little nugget of a home! The washer...how cute. Do people wear really small clothes there? I'm a little confused on why normal size washers haven't caught on. Anyways, you've done an amazing job with your small space...it looks lovely!

Oh...and I like the checkered porch...very practical. Easy to find.
